Designing systems that are built to perform for years, not just for switch-on

Large-scale battery storage only earns its keep if it works reliably, year after year, under continuous heavy use. That’s the standard we design to on every project, whatever the scale.

For KEROSIN, a Czech energy infrastructure investor, that standard applied to one of the largest battery installations we’ve delivered to date: a 7.5MW/15MWh system built to support grid stability.

A system engineered for continuous, heavy-duty use

KEROSIN needed a battery system capable of running reliably at scale, with the technical design to match. That meant getting the engineering right from the outset, and having a partner willing to commit to the system’s performance for the long term, not just its installation.

Modular design, built to scale

We designed the system as three containerised battery units, giving KEROSIN a modular foundation that can scale up for future projects rather than a fixed, one-off installation.

Each container uses liquid cooling to keep battery temperatures stable, protecting performance and extending the life of the batteries even under sustained heavy use.

Our Podium energy management system (EMS) manages the site automatically, with no manual intervention required, giving KEROSIN continuous oversight of how the system is performing. The battery itself supports grid stability, helping balance supply and demand as more renewable generation connects to the network.

We stay on to deliver the service ourselves

Good engineering only pays off if someone stays accountable for it. Alongside the system design, we provide a ten-year SLA (service level agreement), including spare parts and defined response times. It’s our own team delivering that ongoing support, and it’s the same principle we apply across every Wattstor project: we design the system, and we’re there to look after it for the years that follow.

The completed system gives KEROSIN a large-scale, grid-supporting battery asset, engineered and maintained by the same team, and gives Wattstor a foundation for further projects with KEROSIN in the region.
