Wattstor is participating in the construction of one of the largest battery energy storage systems in the Czech Republic. The project is located on a brownfield site in the Hradec Králové region.
This is without a doubt a project of major significance within the region,”
adds Branislav Hrdý, Technical Sales Manager CEE Wattstor.
The Bona Venture Partners investment group is constructing a photovoltaic power plant with an output of 7 MWp. The project includes three Wattstor battery containers with a total capacity of 12.1 MWh – two with a 5 MWh capacity and one with a 2 MWh capacity.
Thanks to Wattstor, which is not only supplying the batteries but also a complete solution for intelligent power generation, consumption, and storage management, the project goes far beyond simple storage. The battery energy storage system will provide power balancing services and actively support mains stabilisation.
The project completion is planned in autumn 2025.
This project reflects the growing interest in connecting photovoltaics with battery systems in relation to new legislation, especially the so-called LEX OZE III. Wattstor and other market players not only expect a significant increase in demand for combined PV power station and BESS systems, but also for separate battery energy storage systems.
