Nick Hay Appointed as Non-Exec Advisor

Wattstor appoints former Gist and Fowler Welch CEO Nick Hay as non-executive advisor

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Nick Hay as our newest non-executive advisor. Former chief executive of logistics giant Gist and prior to that Fowler Welch, Nick brings a wealth of logistics leadership experience to Wattstor. His knowledge, background and insight will help shape our strategy going forward.

Hay chose Wattstor because our vision aligns with his long-standing commitment to ESG and to practical, results-driven solutions. He spots opportunities to apply new technology. In 2006, he was among the first in the UK to introduce advanced telemetry to major truck fleets. Today, that blend of technical insight and commercial know-how is focused on helping Wattstor tackle some of the UK’s most pressing energy challenges.

With years of experience scaling complex operations and delivering data-led efficiencies, Hay understands the infrastructure barriers that can hinder electrification. He has first-hand experience with challenges such as restricted grid connections and the high costs of increasing site capacity. These issues currently hamper development in sectors from manufacturing to logistics and construction.

Hay believes that Wattstor’s combination of smart software, onsite renewables, and battery storage provides the intelligence, insight, and expertise businesses need. This helps keep costs stable and capacity under control, while also supporting organisations through the energy transition.

Nick Hay commented,

“Electrification is transforming the transport sector and businesses want something they can trust. The key is to design, engineer, and deliver systems that work at scale and keep costs down. Wattstor has the engineering and technology capability to make that happen.”
